One of the more common and effective ways to relieve arthritis pain is taking hot baths, mainly before bedtime as arthritis pain is usually at its worst during periods of inactivity or when sleeping. You can ease joint pain by taking the usual hot bath with only water, or adding your favorite bubble soap, or even Epsom salts. Mud or eucalyptus leaves are added by some folks. The key is remaining inside the tub immersed in hot water for a half hour, easing the muscles.

You will also find that saunas and sunbaths are very common and useful. They relieve pain and stuffiness, but you must monitor your blood pressure prior to enjoying a sauna. Do not abuse them, and always apply sunscreen when sitting in the sun.

Arthritis patients often take high doses of Vitamin C (but always adhere to the instructions on the bottle, or your physician’s), and many experience relief. Vitamin C enhances the body’s immunity function and serves to ward off sickness.

Alternative medicine also tries to address pain from arthritis, through the use of homeopathy, herbs, aromatherapy, or acupuncture. It is up to each of us to avail ourselves of every remedy available to relieve our pain, but it is key to consult experts first, because these kinds of treatments do not come with a guarantee.

Eucalyptus, chamomile, or juniper, and much more are used from the herbal field. In order to make compresses for application to the area that is affected, it is good to mix them with oils.

Several beverages are reputed to relieve the pain of arthritis, such as either orange juice combined with cod liver oil, cranberry or lemon juice sipped three times daily. Generally speaking, eating a diet that consists of plenty of fruits and vegetables is beneficial.

With luck, it won’t be long before there is an ideal medicine or pain reliever for arthritis, or even a genuine cure. Living with pain is similar to not really living at all, so until then we will continue to try all the non harmful remedies that are available.
