Living With MS: A Husbands View

Living with MS: A Husbands View Thousands of Canadians including my wife are affected by Multiple Sclerosis. This is a family disease and I hope to shed light from my perspective.
Thousands of Canadians including my wife are affected by Multiple Sclerosis. It is disease that affects the central nervous system. Some people function very well and others end up bed ridden.
From my understanding people with MS start having trouble doing certain tasks. These troubles are called symptoms. Not all people have the same symptoms all the time or have the symptoms all of the time.
Multiple Sclerosis can make you tired or can give you pins and needles in your arms and legs. Seeing and speaking can become difficult.
I have done some reading and so far I have not found any information states the exact cause for MS. There seems to be some contributing factors such as heredity, bacterial and viral infections. This disease attacks the persons’ immune system.
In my experience there seems to be good days and bad days. On the bad days, I get our daughter ready and off to school. I then get ready myself, and make sure Elane has everything she needs for the day. I go to school myself.
Every day we have a lady come in to help out.
On Elanes’ good days she can do some things but she tires easily. She has doctors to go see.
We try to get out together once a week. We go to a support group for MS once a month. I do
things with our daughter. I also go fishing.
We have learned that it is really important to communicate with each other about the way we are feeling.
The fact that no one seems to have a cause or cure is upsetting.
