Yoga is a very broad subject, with many different varieties, so I’m just going to discuss the very basics of hatha yoga here. And since we’re such big supporters of Dr. Sarno’s approach to treating back pain and other tension-induced symptoms, I’m going to try to show how hatha yoga can be used to treat back pain and TMS. Here goes.

What is Pilates? Is it for you?

Pilates, can this combination of Eastern and Western philosophies help to keep you in shape and increase your core stability?
A method developed in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates, which took the Eastern and Western philosophies of conditioning of body and mind.

Core stabilisation is at the centre of Pilates. Abdominal muscles, lower back and buttocks form the core of the body. Without strength and stability in these areas, the rest of the body cannot function properly.
